Organic Body Care

The billion dollar beauty business which includes organic body care products has been unregulated for decades, leaving the door wide open for some unethical manufacturers to mislead and deceive consumers with their slick advertising.

In fact there are many so-called "organic body care products" and "organic skin care products" that contain toxic ingredients that can cause serious health problems.

So how do they get away with it?

It's called "greenwashing".

They list "aqueous infusions" (a glorified name for weak teas) at the top of the ingredient list.

The synthetic ingredients making up the core of the product are listed further down near the bottom of the list.

They also include the water component as "organic" so they can make a deceptive 70% claim which is prohibited under International Organic Standards.

How Many Chemicals Does Your Skin Absorb Daily?

Chemicals can be absorbed into the body in a number of ways including through the skin.

But would it surprise you to learn that if you used a conservative average of 9 personal care products a day, you would be exposed to 126 chemicals every day?

I don't know about you but I find that a little frightening.

Think about it…

Every single day from the time you get up in the morning to the time you go to bed at night you use a number of products to make you look and feel good.

You:

Most men use all the above too (apart from makeup and perfume of course), as well as:

  • shaving cream or gel
  • aftershave lotion
  • cologne

Organic Body Care: What Does Organic & Natural Mean?

Organic and natural means just as nature intended with no chemical process.

The words "naturally derived" or "synthesised" do not mean a product is natural or safe.

It means it has gone through a chemical process...

Cocoamide DEA is derived from coconut but the end product is far from "natural" or "organic".

Always check organic labeling to ensure the product has an "organic logo" otherwise the organic claim cannot be substantiated.

An organic logo is your only guarantee of the integrity, potency and purity of a product.

When you purchase organic body care, beauty or other organic skin care products you're sending a clear message to the company of that product.

Don't let your dollar support unethical manufacturers who are guilty of misleading and deceptive advertising or "greenwashing" their products.

Instead choose organic and natural skin products with certified organic labeling to truly feed and nourish your skin and body.
