Anti Aging Products
What Are Anti Aging Products?Anti aging products are intended to make you look younger and feel better about yourself. They are expected to restore the physical qualities of youth to the surface and the very cells of your body; restoring not only appearance, but also function. Because most of us want to look and feel younger, these products have an amazing appeal to consumers. Yet, not all of them are created equal. Science is helping us to better understand which products are effective and why. But no matter how much work science does for us, it won't do us any good if we don't pay attention to the results and understand their significance. As consumers, we have to start paying more attention to the ingredients in everyday products we purchase for ourselves and our family. Your Role in Choosing Anti Aging ProductsWhen you buy a product, you expect it to do what it promises. You certainly don't expect any product to have potential health problems or consequences but unfortunately there a number of products on the market today that can have adverse health implications because of the synthetic chemicals they contain. Even products that claim to be "organic" can contain these synthetic chemicals which are not only bad for your health; they have a huge impact on the environment as well. So how do you know if a product is truly "organic" and is going to do what it promises? Don't be fooled by misleading advertising known as "green-washing" and assume that just because a product states it is "organic" it must be good for you and safe. If a product states it is "organic", make sure there is an organic logo displayed from a leading certifying body like those listed below.

Why? Because
"Certified Organic Products"
are grown and processed without the use of synthetic chemicals, fertilisers, or
GMO's (genetically modified organisms)
just the way nature intended. Standards to achieve certification are internationally recognised and annual audits are conducted by an independent third party auditor of all certified operators. Here are a few of the ingredients to look out for when purchasing products which you would never find in a certified organic product: Mineral oil, liquidum paraffinum, parrafin oil, parrafin wax and petrolatum are used in many products by manufacturers because it is so cheap. They are all by-products of petroleum that coat the skin like plastic, clogging the pores and interfering with skin's ability to eliminate toxins. It promotes acne and other disorders and slows down skin function and cell development which results in premature aging. Any mineral oil derivative can be contaminated with cancer causing PAH's (Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons). Paraben preservatives (methyl, propyl, butyl, and ethyl) are used to extend the shelf life of products even though they are known to be toxic and have caused many allergic reactions and skin rashes - highly toxic. Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) and Ammonium Laureth Sulfate (ALES) - is frequently disguised in semi-natural cosmetics with the explanation "comes from coconut". When combined with other chemicals, SLES and ALES can create nitrosamines, a potent class of carcinogens. Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate (ALS) is used in car washes, garage floor cleaners and engine degreasers as well as in 90% of products that foam. It is also frequently disguised in semi-natural cosmetics with the explanation "comes from coconut". Fragrance on a label is how many manufacturers mask toxic or carcinogenic ingredients. Symptoms reported to the USA FDA include headaches, dizziness, allergic rashes, skin discoloration, violent coughing and vomiting, and skin irritation. Clinical observation proves fragrances can affect the central nervous system, causing depression, hyperactivity, and irritability. The Reality of Anti Aging ProductsYou want to defy the aging process to look and feel younger but the ingredients in anti aging products should help the body to defy age, not contain toxic chemicals that are a threat to you and your health as well as the environment. The bottom line is if you can't pronounce the ingredient list on a product, or if it looks like a chemistry lesson, you probably shouldn't be putting it on or in your body. The solution is choosing organic food and organic products that carry a certified organic logo because it's your only guarantee of the integrity, potency and purity of a product. You'll not only boost your intake of beneficial vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that promote health and vitality and help prevent premature aging, you'll also be doing your bit for the environment. It is possible to look good, reduce your exposure to chemicals and be friendly to the environment but don't be fooled by misleading advertising. When you're about to make a purchase ask yourself these questions: - What is in the product?
- Where did it come from and how was it derived?
- Is it tested on animals?
- How is it packaged?
- Does this company care about me, my health and the environment?
